Edit videos
Transform existing videos without reshooting
Sometimes the take is good - the delivery landed, the energy was right. But it needs a tweak. Edit your video without going back on camera.
1. Polish your UGC video
You filmed something good. But maybe the background is your kitchen, the lighting is flat, or the outfit doesn't match the brand you’re talking about.
UGC Video Makeover lets you change the visual environment around you (background, outfit, lighting, setting) while keeping your face, motion, voice, and lip sync perfectly intact.
- Tap New Session in the left menu.
- Tap Skills in the right menu and find @VideoMakeover to get started.
- Share your video. Your UGC video must be less than 30 seconds and under 50MB.
- Describe what you want to change. Be as specific or as open as you like. You can describe a full scene ("put me in a luxury hotel lobby with warm lighting") or a single change ("swap my outfit for a red blazer"). If you're not sure, tell SecretSauce the brand aesthetic you're going for and it will make suggestions.
You can change:
- Your environment: Office to rooftop, bedroom to studio, anywhere you want
- Your outfit: Put on a suit, a hat, change your hairstyle, whatever
- Your lighting: Golden hour, neon, cinematic, candlelight, you choose
- The overall aesthetic: Cinematic, retro, film grain, editorial
Examples
- "Put me in a sleek café with warm afternoon light"
- "Change my outfit to a white linen shirt and move me to a rooftop at sunset"
- "Make this look more cinematic. Add some film grain and moody lighting"
- "Replace my home office background with a minimalist studio"
2. Swap the background
Background Swap strips the background from your video and places the subject (you, your talent, or your product) onto a new one.
- Tap New Session in the left menu.
- Tap Skills in the right menu and find @BackgroundSwap to get started.
- Upload your video or share a public URL. SecretSauce will extract the subject and remove the background automatically.
- Describe your new background. Tell SecretSauce what you want behind your subject: a specific scene, branded image, color, or style. You can also upload an image to use as the new background.
Examples
- "Remove the background and place me in front of a New York City skyline at night"
- "Swap the background to a clean white studio"
- "Put my product on a marble surface with a warm, soft-focus background"
- "Replace the background with our brand colors"
3. Cut awkward pauses
You nailed the take, but there are 5 seconds of dead air while you looked at your notes, a long pause mid-sentence, and a gap where you lost your train of thought.
SecretSauce automatically detects every silent stretch and removes them automatically - giving you a tighter, faster cut without touching the content itself.
- Tap New Session in the left menu.
- Tap Skills on the right menu and find @SilentCut. Or Ask SecretSauce to remove pauses from your video.
That's it. No timeline scrubbing, no manual cuts.
When to use it:
- Raw talking-head takes where you paused to think or stumbled between sentences
- Screen recordings and tutorials with long silences between steps
- Before adding captions - cleaner audio means cleaner caption sync
- TikTok, Reels, and Shorts content where fast pacing keeps people watching
- As a first step before lipsync - trimming silence gives lipsync a cleaner clip to work with
When you probably don't need it:
- Cinematic or narrative content where pacing and breathing room are intentional
- Music videos or content where silence is part of the rhythm
Examples:
- "Remove all the pauses from this talking-head video"
- "Tighten up this tutorial. Cut the dead air between steps"
- "Strip the silences, then add captions"
4. Sync lips to new audio
You dubbed your video into another language, swapped in a cloned voiceover, or re-recorded a single line - but the speaker's mouth is still moving to the original words.
Lip Sync adjusts the mouth movements on a video to match a new audio track, so the result looks natural.
- Tap New Session in the left menu
- Tap Skills in the right menu and find @Lipsync to get started. Or and ask SecretSauce to lipsync your video.
- Share your video. The video needs a visible face with clear mouth movements: talking-head clips, UGC videos, and interview footage all work well.
- Upload or generate your new audio. This can be a voice clone, a translated dub, a re-recorded line, or any spoken audio you want the speaker to match.
When to use it:
- After dubbing a video into another language. The translation sounds right, now make it look right
- After generating a voiceover with Voice Clone. Pair the cloned audio with the original talking-head footage
- When you need to fix or replace a single line without reshooting the whole video
- For UGC-style content where you want a different speaker's voice on an existing clip
Examples:
- "Lipsync this video to the Spanish audio I just generated"
- "I cloned my voice and generated a new script. Sync it to this talking-head clip"
- "Replace what the speaker says in this UGC video with this new audio file"
- "Dub this into French, then lipsync the result"
